Pentahotel Kowloon is undoubtedly, the best value hotel in Hong Kong. For ~USD 100 per night, this energetic and industrial-chic boutique hotel (rated 4 star) in Kowloon offers friendly and attentive services, as well as spacious and modern guest rooms.
I checked into my room located on the 27th floor and was pleasantly surprised by the size (22 sq meter). It is quite spacious for Hong Kong standard, and the contemporary design with a touch of old Hong Kong cultural references won my heart over.
Each rowm is efficiently designed with free WiFi, smartphone docking, cable TV channels, electronic safe, air conditioning, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer, fridge, bathroom amenities and rain shower head.
In terms of location, it is located in an industrial area – a little out from the city centre but are easily connected with their complimentary daily shuttle service to K11 Art Mall (around 20 minutes) and the nearest MTR station (Diamond Hill) is approx. 8 mins walking distance away.
A 24 hour gym and seasonal outdoor pool (closes in winter months) is located on the third floor.
I felt welcome the moment I stepped into the check in area. Penta Hotel Kowloon’s staffs were very helpful and attentive. They gave me plenty of local recommendations too.
The hotel features a pentagon Music Stations, two Game Rooms and mobile charging service on the first floor. There are maxibar vending machines and safe room on the mezzanine floor for guests convenience too.
The pizza bar located on the ground floor is quite a popular dining destination. It is famous for their local flavours such as fried dace with salted black bean 豆豉鯪魚 pizza, as well as char-grilled pork 叉燒 pizza.
Eatstreet@pentalounge located on the first floor is an all day dining restaurant that offers local HK dishes and a variety of comfort foods and drinks. The food stalls are adorned with funky street-style light box reminiscent of local food stalls and open air markets.
I really love the brick walls with vintage murals as well as dai pai dong style tables and stools at the restaurant too. Breakfast selection is really good – I love my morning dim sum with milk tea as well as some western varieties such as bacons, scrambled egg, sausages, toasts, fruits and yogurt.
